Designed by the folks who brought you Freedom and Anti-Social, the newest version of Freedom enables you to block distractions across all your devices, including Windows and Mac computers, Android phones and tablets, and the iPhone and iPad. For years, thousands of our users have been asking for a service like Freedom - and we're thrilled to share it with you. Below you'll find answers to some questions about the newest version of Freedom.
Freedom.to is our newest software. This new version of Freedom is a huge improvement, incorporating features from both of our original products (Freedom and Anti-Social). If you’ve previously used our older software, you’ll need to create a new account to get started with this version of Freedom.

Here’s a tip from people who have already transitioned to the new Freedom: As Freedom combines the functions of Freedom and Anti-Social, you can use it both ways. Create a blocklist of your most distracting sites and schedule it for the morning and afternoon of each workday. Then, for when you need to truly focus on a single task, create a separate schedule that blocks the entire Internet.
With our yearly model we can now offer a basic version of our product for free. Previously you had to pay to use any function of Freedom, and we realized that there were so many more people we could be helping by making a free version of our product.
For people who need to be really productive, or have advanced control over distractions, we’ve created our Plus and Premium tiers. With these tiers we’ve tried to eliminate a lot of complexity and create a sustainable business model for ourselves. Here are some of the improvements we’ve made:

Our iOS application is groundbreaking - it is the first iOS app to be able to block distracting websites and apps. We do this by creating a VPN connection. With Freedom, we don’t monitor your traffic, and most of your traffic doesn’t even go over the VPN. The only traffic that goes over our VPN is the stuff you want to block. So your phone will be as fast as usual - just like browsing on your regular connection. And because only blocked traffic goes over the VPN, there’s almost no impact on battery life.
No. Because we are only carrying the traffic from the sites you want blocked, we are using a fraction of the bandwidth of a conventional VPN. All other queries go over the regular internet and are as fast as usual.
No. Since only a very small portion of your traffic is going over the VPN, we don’t require the extra battery consumption to run a full VPN.
Freedom now works across all of your devices. To make coordinating this easier, we developed a web app that allows you to manage all of your devices and apps in one place. As we continue to improve our desktop and mobile apps, we’re going to introduce more management features directly into these apps, so you can control your sessions from within the app on your device.
