I start my session at 10 pm so I’m forced to stop scrolling and either go to bed or do something else. It’s not magic, but it’s enough of a roadblock that it works for me. I also use it when I wake up so I don’t lie in bed and scroll.

I was unsure of this after a friend recommended it to me. Will this really even stop me? But after the 30 day free trial I bought the full version! I block my social media most of the day as well as my dating apps which helped me to be more intentional about dating and spend less screen time in general. Just having the gentle reminder when you try to open the app makes all the difference in the conscious effort to break the bad habit.

I like the fact that this type of app/website blocker is built around “sessions” ranging from 1 minute, to 24 hours. This allows the user to make adjustments without having to worry about being locked out of the settings forever. No password is needed because the app shuts down all the apps/websites you set, and doesn’t allow you to stop a session once the first minute passes. But if an adjustment is needed, simply wait out the entirety of the session and then edit the settings.

Depending on your job or career, this app can multiply your productivity. Check out locked mode, and make sure you use both Desktop and Phone modes. Worth every penny

I absolutely adore this app. I've used similar apps before without success, but Freedom is different in how it lets you block multiple devices at once. It gives me a sense of peace knowing that my phone, laptop and desktop computer are simultaneously distraction-free.

I regularly use Freedom to limit my internet time wasting over the night time hours so I can’t stay up later than I should online doing nothing important and getting less sleep than ideal. I have ADHD so easily get distracted and drawn into stuff otherwise. Works great on both iPhone and Mac and I’m happy to have paid for the lifetime license years ago.
